Why are Rhodes rewards tags going away in December?

The vendor that has provided the Rhodes rewards program will no longer support the platform required to continue the program after the end of this year.  That’s okay though because Rhodes developed a new app that combines shopping AND a rewards program to replace the tag system. 

The tag system was very basic.  If you bought six fountain or hot drinks, you got the seventh one free.  You would spend money on in-store and fuel purchases to earn a reward to redeem in store.  The new rewards system will allow you to earn points faster and redeem them on anything at our stores (excluding age-restricted products).  If you pay directly from your bank account the new app will provide a lower fuel price automatically.

The new app will allow you to DO MORE and SAVE MORE than the tags ever have including: 

1.     Earn rewards points for in-store and fuel purchases

2.     Use contactless payment methods

3.     Order ahead for in-store items

4.     Choose from a variety of pick-up methods including: 

a.     In-store pick up

b.     Drive thru pick up

c.      Delivery to your fuel pump

5.     Roll back the price at the fuel pump when you pay directly from your bank account.  (Reward points will still be earned when using debit or credit cards).

What will happen to my tag rewards points?

Your tag points will be transferred to your new app-based account after you submit your tag ID, first and last name, email address, cell phone number and birth date through the website.  The transfer may take up to four weeks for us to complete.  You will be able to start using the app before your tag points are transferred and even earn rewards on the purchases you make during the points transfer process.

 

What will happen to my points if I don’t submit my information through this website?

Your tag will stop working in December and all points associated with your tag will be abandoned when our vendor terminates the platform that Rhodes has used for the tag program.

 

Can I still use the app if I don’t submit my information through this website?

Yes, you can always download and use our app once it’s made available to the general public.  If you don’t provide your information through this website, you won’t receive advance notice that it’s launching or be one of the first people to use it.  The only way you can transfer your tag points over to the app is to submit all the information that is being requested through this webpage.

What benefits will I receive by using the new app-based shopping and rewards system?

Not only will your current tag reward points be made available to you in the new app-based shopping and rewards system, but you will also be allowed to DO MORE and SAVE MORE than the tags ever have including: 

1.     Shop for any in-store item including fresh food, fountain drinks, snacks and *age-restricted products.

a.     *Photo ID must be presented at time of pick up when ordering age-restricted items.

2.     Earn rewards points for in-store and fuel purchases

3.     Use contactless payment methods

4.     Order ahead for in-store items

5.     Choose from a variety of pick-up methods including:

How will I earn rewards through the new app-based shopping and rewards system?

You will earn points for in-store and fuel purchases made using the app.  The points can be spent on future purchases made using the app. 

To thank you for giving our app a try, you’ll earn reward points for downloading the app and making your very first in-app purchase.  You will continue earning points at an accelerated rate for 60 days following your first in-app purchase up to 11,100 points (a $111 value). 

 

When will the new app be available to me?

We’re working to get all the programming kinks worked out with the app and to train our team members to process and deliver orders accurately.  We’re close but want to make sure our customers have a great experience when we hand this app over to you.  Your patience is appreciated while we finish up our testing of the new app.  As soon as the app is ready for you, we’ll send you a message to the email address you provide through this website.  The message will let you know it’s time to download the app and get shopping.

 

Can I participate in the new rewards system without a smart phone?

Unfortunately, the new rewards system will only be available through smart phone use.  No other type of phone or physical tag or card will be available.

 

How will purchases of age-restricted items handled through the new app-based shopping and rewards system?

Tobacco, alcohol and other age-restricted items will be available through the new app-based shopping and rewards system.  App users must provide their birthdate when downloading the app.  That’s why we are asking for your birthday through this website.  When picking up an age-restricted purchase, a photo ID must be presented for you to receive your item. 

In terms of earning rewards for age-restricted items, you will earn rewards for tobacco purchases but not alcohol.  Alcohol purchases have never earned rewards through our rewards tags.  Regulations prohibit rewards for alcohol purchases.  Tobacco purchases will earn rewards separate from purchases of any other kind.  Those rewards will only be redeemed on future tobacco purchases. 

Our accelerated points system was outlined under the How will I earn rewards through the new app-based shopping and rewards system? FAQ above.  Tobacco purchases will not be included in the accelerated points program.
